Martin Murray, professor of sociology and urban planning at the Tubman College of
Architecture and Urban Planning, will discuss contemporary Johannesburg and it's preparation for the World Cup this coming June. The talk is entitled Panic-City: Agoraphobia, Capsular Architecture, and the Triumph of Post-Public Space in Johannesburg after Apartheid.
This talk is a part of the Museum's lecture series entitled Timelines: New Perspectives on African Architecture and Urbanism, which explores contemporary African cities as unique built environments.
