Barbara Hoffman, a two-time Fulbright recipient and renowned anthropologist of east Africa joins the discussion in our series Timelines: New Perspectives on African Architecture & Urbanism. Dr. Hoffman will present her recent research entitled, The Anthropology of Space in Urban Africa: Houses, Kin, and Traveling Husbands.
Timelines: New Perspectives on African Architecture and Urbanism explores contemporary African cities as unique built environments. Through many distinguished practitioners of architecture, urban planning and architectural theory the lectures will probe this emerging field of discourse and its global relevance and applicability.
