Join the Central Park Conservancy and the Museum for African Art for an introduction to the Djembe drum by Harlem composer and percussionist Michael Wimberly. No experience required. No advance registration. For more information, call 212-860-1370.

 

Learn authentic rhythms from the West African countries of Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin and Togo. Each beat is studied in the context of the culture, dance or ceremony of which it is an integral part.
