Spring 2009 Gala Photos!
June 3, 2009On Thursday, May 14, 2009, the Museum for African Art held its annual Spring Gala and Silent Auction. This year’s event coincided with the 25th Anniversary of the Museum! Guastavino’s provided a stunning new setting for the fundraiser, an evening that began with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by a seated dinner. Wine and spirits for the occasion were generously provided by Moët Hennessy USA.
The Museum raised over $500,000 to support this year’s exciting roster of exhibitions and public programs! The silent auction featured exquisite pieces of traditional and contemporary African art, luxurious trips, and items from Louis Vuitton and La Prairie.
This special event offered a moment to look towards the Museum’s exciting future and reflect on the Museum’s 25 years of exceptionally bringing Africa’s rich and historic cultural legacy to thousands of people in New York City and beyond.
